The Settlers Online (known as The Settlers Online: Castle Empire in the United States) is a freemium, online browser-based version inspired by The Settlers.[2] A beta version of the game was released in Germany, Russia, and North America on October 22, 2010,[3] with the final build released worldwide on September 19, 2011.[1]

The Settlers (Serf City: Life is Feudal in the United States) is a slow-paced simulation video game by German developer Blue Byte, first released in 1993 for Commodore Amiga and in 1994 for the IBM-PC. It was the first game of its type, blending together principles which had not been seen in a single game before, and defined the line of the later Settlers.
In the game, the player has to build a city, defeat bandit camps and complete quests to earn XP and level up. That unlocks different new buildings, mines and soldiers.
